''Exploring The Different Names For Animal Flesh and Meat"


I am feeling kind and sad to talk about meat of different animals and adding picture of such a adorable animals to talk about their flesh , but I have done it for better understanding . meat is a flesh of animals that is eaten as food . The word meat is used with animals flesh which includes fish and birds, but some people consider that meat only refers to the land mammals and have different words for poultry, fish and seafoods . The most consuming meat in the world is pork, which is followed by beef and then chicken and mutton in the 4th rank .

Beef : Through out the world, beef is a meat taken from cattle animals such as ox, bull, cow and buffalo. beef is one of the most common meat consumed everywhere in the world expect some states in India because Hindu people believe that cow is a sacred animal. In their religious, cow are given higher respect than other animals . According to data of 2020, The United States was the largest consumer of beef which was followed by China, the EU, Brazil and India. The largest produce of beef in all over the world is America followed by Brazil, European Union, China and India .


veal : veal is a meat of calves, a young cow, aged less than one year.  


Buff : As we know that beef is a buffalo meat, but in some countries like India and Nepal, the common name for buffalo meat are buff  and red beef   . In Spanish term, buffalo meat is also known as carabeef .


Bison : Bison meat comes from bison, which is also known as a  American buffalo . you can use word beef for bison too.


Rabbit meat : It is a meat from rabbit .There is no any special word for rabbit meat . The consumption of rabbit meat is popular in some countries like China, Italy, France and Spain . The largest rabbit meat producing country is China .


Venison : venison meat is taken from deer or antelope such as deer, red deer, fallow deer, blackbuck, moose, reindeer, elk, sika deer, antelope and nilgai antelope . venison is so popular because it is naturally low in fat, high in protein and rich in minerals. It is considered that New Zealand is the largest producer of venison .


chevron : meat from goat is known as chevron. However, In India and Nepal, The common name of goat meat is mutton .  mutton is consumed by almost every meat eater, but not as popular as beef and pork. Indian people widely eat mutton instead of beef . The largest producer and consumer of goat meat is China followed by India .



lamb : meat from young sheep, age less than one year is called lamb. The baby of sheep is lamb  .


mutton : meat from mature sheep, age more than one year is called mutton. The word mutton is also common for goat meat in India and Nepal .


pork : meat of pig or hot is known as pork . piglet is a young pig that is fed on its mother's milk, is referred to as meat from suckling pig . The pig meat is widely consumed all over the world. only Muslims and Jews  religion people don't consume because the Torah and Quran forbid to consume pork, but Hindus eat it . The largest producer and consumer of pork is non other than  China .


camel meat : meat is taken from camel. The country with the largest volume of camel meat consumption and producer is Saudi Arabia. 


poppy : poppy is a meat taken from donkey. It is commonly consumed in China. most of the people just called it donkey meat . It can be really shocking for someone to believe that donkey meat is consumed in china. The reason of consumption is that donkey skin is used in a popular herbal medicine and their meat is eaten or imported .


Dog meat : Dog meat is also called offal, carrion. According to Wikipedia, historically, human consumption of dog meat has been recorded in many parts of the world. In the 21st century, dog meat is consumed in China, Nigeria, Switzerland and Vietnam and it is eaten or is legal to be eaten in other countries the world. However, the meat of dog is mostly consumed from the above mentioned nations .


chicken : meat from chicken is eaten by almost every meat consumer. There is no any religious law which forbids chicken . According to fao.org, The united states of America is the world's largest poultry meat producer followed by china and The china is by far the world's largest egg producer, with 37% of global production, followed by United States and India .


Turkey : The meat of this poultry is called turkey . The country Israel is the largest turkey meat consumer in the world .


ostrich : The meat of this bird is also known as ostrich . The taste of the ostrich meat is not just like other birds such as chicken, pigeon. Its meat is red like venison and the taste is similar to beef and other say it tastes like veal . The ostrich meat is more popular in south Africa. south Africa is the world leader in ostrich production with 75% of global market share.  


squab : meat taken from the pigeon, especially young, immature pigeon, aged under four weeks old is called squab.  The word squab is also a name for baby pigeon, aged under four weeks old. The meat is very tender and usually squab weigh around 12-16 ounces. pigeon has entirely dark meat because of having high concentration of myoglobin and has delicately flavored meat that is used for stuffing whole and roasting . The pigeon meat lovers are  widely found in Britain, Ireland, Egypt, Germany, China and Italy


fish and other seafoods : most of the fishes, seafoods and shellfish have the same name for its meat. for example, the meat of salmon is salmon meat, meat of tuna is tuna meat. similarly, the meat of lobster is lobster meat . 


Red meat : meat obtains from cow, ox, bull, buffalo, veal, lamb, deer, elk, goat, sheep, boar and so on are red meat.
White meat : meat obtain from chicken, pork, fish and so on are white meat.
